Honda Mobilio listed on Indian site

Honda is all geared up to make its forthcoming model Honda Mobilio a huge success and follow the footsteps of its previous launches City and Amaze. While the previous models were sedan and hatchbacks which have a popular fan base in India, the Mobilio is a compact MPV a first of its kind vehicle in India. The car is expected to rewrite sales records of predecessors and was presented with great fanfare during Auto Expo 2014 and is now listed on Honda’s India website with confirmation about official launch within forthcoming months. The reason behind success of Honda is 1.5 liter i-DTEC motor which has helped this brand raise sales around 83 percent within one year.

The Honda Mobilio has elegant exterior and comfortable interiors with latest luxury features to match competitors in market like Maruti’s Ertiga, Ford Ecosport etc. Earlier cars of Honda have been popular since they were available in both petrol and diesel fuel options all of which were available at a reasonable price range. Therefore Honda will present the Mobilio also with both diesel and petrol engine options and reputation of its engines will help it get a great breakthrough even in compact SUV segment. The car has been designed on Honda’s EarthDream technology therefore produces fuel efficiency of 100 PS of power along with mileage of 25kmph which is way above than other vehicles in this category. The Mobilio is being produced at its Tapurkara plant which will be sold within domestic markets and also exported.

To increase its appeal among potential customers across borders Mobilio has been presented with spacious interiors for fitting in six to seven customers with sufficient space for legroom and shoulder-room. The car’s dimensions and spacious seating arrangement makes it ideal as both family car and also for tour operators to manage small groups of tourists. According to fleet operators introduction of Mobilio will fit in segment left empty by Maruti’s Ertiga which is underpowered and Chevrolet’s Enjoy which lacks reliability in long distances. If the elegant Honda Mobilio provides right kind of compact design at affordable cost and is able to provide fuel efficiency as claimed it will be an instant hit and may eat into markets of these two leaders.

Honda which does not have any car in compact SUV segment recognizes potential of growth within this segment as most existing products are either in luxury category or are unsteady vans used by schools and small time tour operators. It aims to bridge this gap with Mobilio which will have elegance of a personal car with reliable engine and powerful performance to suit long trips. The car has been provided with air-conditioner and heater for maximizing passenger comfort along with rear defogger and intermittent wipers in the front. Since the Mobilio will also be fitted with powerful brakes combining disc and drum mechanism along with strong suspension it will be an ideal car for family trips. To increase its safety features Honda has fitted this car with ABS, brake assist, engine immobilizer, airbags for front passengers along with seat belts for all occupants.
