The Japanese car majors are always very eager to please the Chinese car consumers, as the Chinese car market is the world’s largest auto market. After the breach of national relationships between China and Japan due to the dispute over the ownership of some islands, the Chinese car consumers reportedly banned the Japanese car models. As soon as the ban lifted quite some time now, the Japanese auto giants resumed their rivalry among each other in order to please the Chinese audience. As a result, a whole host of china specific models have been immerging recently. All the recently held Chinese auto shows beginning from last year has witnessed two or more china specific cars.
Though the global car models from the house of Honda as well as the other Japanese car giants such as the global leader Toyota, are popular in China, exclusively built China specific cars seem to be more popular in the country. The Chinese car consumers generally have a taste for bigger, luxurious cars, though recently the wave has been shifting towards compact sporty looking cars, and the Japanese car makers are busy making the same.
