Honda has interesting new products to look forward to which are Mobilio MPV and new Jazz, to expand its product portfolio, the company announced of its aim to build a new R and D unit. The company has made a statement on the new plant, stating that it is not keen to build a product at the factory, and is working on localization.
A senior company representative at Tokyo Motor Show stated that the new research and development unit in India will develop the next gen Jazz or Brio model. Majority of Honda products are manufactured at R and D units in Thailand and Japan. The due launch date of new Jazz is 2015 January, and will be priced in accordance with stringent competition.
Honda’s aim to build a new Research and Development unit is to increase its product growth capacity. The emphasis at the moment is not too much on churning a new model from the R and D unit, but localization. Honda has developed a fair bit of localization with its City, which is 72%. The company has achieved a higher degree of localisation with its new City which is 90%.
The company is banking on its new launches to drive growth; Honda has churned enormous growths in the last fiscal with the flow of 134,339 units. The firm is keen to roll out 300,000 units by 2016 to 2017. Honda Cars India made 5% global profits in the earlier fiscal, and the sale hike in India compared to the year ago period was more than 80%. From its desired 300,000 unit growth in 2016 to 2017, the company is eyeing 5% global growth.
Honda is viewing possible strategies to expand export volumes, together with domestic growths. Last fiscal the company exported 5,798 units, and in the current 2014 to 2015 financial year, the goal is to target 11,000 units. According to statistical projections the growth potential in export segment is expected to hit 443 crore INR compared to 283 crore achieved in earlier fiscal. Honda India exports City, Amaze and Brio to Africa and Asia Pacific markets.
Honda’s big launch for 2014 is Mobilio MPV; Honda cars are appreciated for their premium statures. The public will certainly be excited beyond words with the Mobilio MPV. The petrol car gathers its energy from 1.5 litre iVTEC power train. The engines are derived from Amaze. The diesel car moves on class rending mileage of 17.2kmpl.
