Honda Cars India had earlier announced the launch of the Mobilio MPV in the country in July this year, the vehicle’s launch in India is very imminent. The Mobilio MPV is the next highly awaited car from Honda India and is expected to make a hat-trick blockbuster after the superb success of Honda’s latest two launches, the new City and Amaze. Now, the latest news that has been doing the rounds is that Honda Cars India is already planning to export the India made Mobilio to the country’s neighboring nations such as Nepal and Bhutan.
According to the recent reports, the new upcoming Honda Mobilio could be also exported to the other offshore markets from India at a later date depending on the demand for the vehicle. However, at the time being the company’s focus will be on the vehicle’s India launch and its reception in the domestic market.
The contemplation of the export of the India made Mobilio to the other markets is definitely is a part of Honda India’s plan to increase the company exports to double the amount of the current exports. Honda Cars India is working on increased components exports as well as the export of vehicles to double the current amount within this current financial year. At present, Honda India exports various car components such as the cylinder head, crank shaft and transmission gearboxes to several international markets such as South East Asia, UK and Latin America. Honda India produces these car components at its Tapukara facility in Rajasthan.
Honda Mobilio MPV will be the Japanese car maker’s first venture into the lucrative MPV segment in India. Honda first unveiled the vehicle in India at the 2014 Auto Expo, since which the MPV has been testing in the country. The Mobilio has been launched in the Indonesian car market in January this year, while in India it is yet to happen. Moreover, while the Mobilio’s India launch was confirmed towards late July, now new speculations are suggesting further delay saying that it might launch in August.
The Honda Mobilio is based on the popular Brio hatchback’s platform, and will be available in both petrol and diesel versions. The petrol Mobilio will be powered by a 1.5 liter i-VTEC motor generating max power of 117bhp, while the diesel avatar will pack in the 1.5 liter i-DTEC mill delivering 98bhp of power. Both the petrol and diesel engines will be mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox, while the petrol mill will get the option of a CVT transmission as well. Mobilio’s diesel version is expected to offer the fuel efficiency of the current industry best 26 km per liter, while the petrol version is expected to offer the mileage of 18 km per liter.
Post the massive success of the Amaze and the new City, the sales rates of Honda Cars India is expected to reach a new high after the launch of the new Mobilio MPV.
