The Japanese car major Honda Motor is well-known for its stylish, capable premium cars in the global auto space. The Jazz or the Fit hatchback from Honda has been a very popular car internationally, winning over the hearts of the global consumers with its reliable performance and superior comfort and quality aspects. The Japanese car major has gone ahead launching the latest generation model of the Jazz, which happened in the company’s home market, back in the month of September 2013. Now, Honda will be launching the latest-gen model of the hatchback in the car market of United States in this week of the current month. The Jazz which is known as the Fit in the U.S market is expected to be as successful as it has been in Japan.
Prior to the actual market launch of the 2014 Fit in the U.S, Honda America has launched an online configurator for the Fit enthusiasts. This configurator will give an opportunity to the potential customers of the car to design their own vehicles as per their choices.
The all-new 2014 Honda Jazz first made its US appearance at the 2014 Detroit Motor Show in the month of January this year. For the US auto market, the all new Jazz is being manufactured at Honda America’s manufacturing facility located in Mexico. This is Honda America’s a new car plant which is manufacturing the Fit hatchback for the first time. The all new 2014 Fit/Jazz will be available in US auto market soon in three model trims, namely LX, EX and EX-L. Honda will be pricing the new Jazz starting from $15,525 (equivalent to Rs. 9.21 lakhs), which will extend up to $20,800 (equivalent to Rs. 12.33 lakhs) for the top-end variant.
Under the hood, the all new Honda Jazz will be powered by the company’s potent 1.5 liter iVTEC engine which has been tweaked to now offer a max power of 130 hp, up from the previous 117 hp. The 1.5 liter petrol engine will be the sole engine choice and no diesel version will be offered. The engine will get a choice of transmissions of a 6 speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic gearbox with pedal shifters.
In the Indian car market, while the Jazz hatchback has been discontinued last year, Honda Cars India is planning to resurrect the brand with the all new Jazz. The new Jazz was earlier speculated to be launching by the end of this year, however the company has confirmed the car’s launch by early 2015.
The all new Jazz was unveiled in India at the 2014 Auto Expo in February. The more stylish and bigger Jazz premium hatchback is expected to launch with all the right elements in India, this time around. The new Jazz will also come to India in with both its 1.5 liter petrol and 1.5 liter diesel engines. While the previous Jazz could not click in India for overpriced, the new Jazz is expected to be tagged attractively.
