Honda has churned a couple of best-in-class fuel efficient products called Amaze and all new City. The most spoken about Honda car at the moment is the all new City that offers a phenomenal fuel efficiency value of 26kmpl. So much of enthusiasm was centred on the car. The City has a lifelong reputation of being an incredibly lavish model; the all new City is a step ahead of the past. It is not just a progression of the earlier car but an evolutionary piece.

The new car is the fourth gen product; it looks dynamically unique from its predecessor. The outer layering is a fine metal that looks like a single finished product throughout. The glossy outer covering matches the taste buds of modern car enthusiasts. The novelty of the fourth gen City is contributed by the creative Shark Conceptual Design theme to make it look fresh and aggressive. The bulges above wheel arches look neat. The car looks eye catchy from the front with solid wing face chrome filled grille. The huge windshield accentuates the classy and stylish image of the car. The rear looks attractive too; the appeal complements the measurement values of the vehicle. It is 1695mm wide and 4440mm long. There are also so many interesting colours to choose from such as Crystal Black, golden brown metallic, carnelian red, urban titanium metallic, alabaster silver metallic and taffeta white.

The insides look as picturesque as exteriors filled with top grade materials; Honda has given lot of importance to the comfort value. The design theme is called Man maximum machine minimum. The seats have more than sufficient shoulder and thigh support. The exterior visibility is impressive caused by the height adjusting feature in driver’s seat. The new Honda City offers great amount of driving convenience with the presence of fuel consumption display, tachometer and odometer. The steering wheel is covered with fine leather, there is a posh five inch screen with I-pod, Aux-in, hands free telephone, FM or AM and USB connectivity. The rear has cup holders, armrests there are also power windows.

The car is equipped with a potent 1.5 litre iDTEC engine along with 1.5 litre iVTEC SOHC petrol power train. The mileage offered by the petrol car is 18kmpl which is pretty splendid and on par with 26kmpl generated by the diesel vehicle.

Honda has engineered the all new City with great mileage power; it overpowers the highest 25.4 kmpl value produced by Indigo eCS diesel, and outshines 15 vehicles in its segment. Hyundai Xcent a fierce contender for all new City and it too is not on the same level with the car and moves at 24.4kmpl.

Those who are keen on the fourth gen Honda City, it is a worthy purchase to acquire a different City feel. It costs Rs 7.3 to 11.1 lakhs. It will be interesting to witness the level of competition in the near future and constructing a vehicle that could offer a greater than 26kmpl mileage is a hard task.
