The long wait of the Honda car lovers has finally ended, as the Japanese car maker has officially launched its Mobilio MPV in India. Honda Cars India has ventured into the MPV market of India for the first time with the Mobilio 7-seater sub-compact. The much awaited Honda Mobilio MPV has launched in India at a starting tag of Rs. 6.49 lakhs for the petrol version and Rs. 7.89 lakhs for the diesel version (prices, ex-showroom Delhi).

The Honda Mobilio MPV will be available in the India car market in four variants, namely the E, S, V and the RS. While the other three variants of the Mobilio will be immediately available, Honda will launch the sportier Mobilio RS variant in India in the month of September. The RS variant however will be offered by the Japanese car major in only the diesel version of the Mobilio.
The Honda Mobilio MPV will be available in the Indian car market in a color palette of seven different shades. However, Honda will also launch an exclusive Crystal Black body color that will be available only with the RS variant of the Mobilio.
Under the hood, the Honda Mobilio’s petrol variants have packed in the very afficient 1.5 liter i-VTEC petrol engine, which also does the duty under the hood of the very successful all new Honda City. This petrol mill has the capability to produce a max power of 117 bhp and a peak torque of 14.8 kgm.
On the other hand, the Mobilio’s diesel variants get to be driven by the star performer new 1.5 liter i-DTEC diesel motor which also powers the Amaze compact sedan and the Honda City sedan. The diesel engine has the capability to produce a max power of 99 bhp and a peak torque of 20.4 kgm of torque. The diesel Mobilio will also offer the outstanding fuel efficiency of 24.2 km per liter to the mileage conscious Indian car buyers.
The Honda Mobilio offers a superb MPV choice for the urban modern Indians, as the vehicle comes with great style, massive space, intelligent seating arrangement, great mileage and competitive pricing.
The Honda Mobilio MPV is the direct competitor to the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, which is currently the fastest selling compact MPV in the Indian domestic car market. The Honda Mobilio’s other market rivals in India includes the Nissan Evalia, Chevrolet Enjoy and the larger segment leader the Toyota Innova.
Honda Cars India grew by 83 percent last year, making India the largest growth market for the Japanese car major. Honda also has many other new car launches for India in the pipeline.

- Mobilio Diesel S: Rs. 8.60 lakhs
