The big day is approaching soon, and the long wait of the Honda car lovers who are eagerly waiting to get their hands on the Mobilio is going to get over. The car enthusiasts of India have been waiting for the Mobilio MPV to launch in the country ever since Honda Cars India showcased the vehicle. This long wait is going to finally end on 23rd of July, 2014.
The Mobilio sub-compact MPV is going to be Honda’s first venture into the MPV segment of India. After the very popular Maruti Suzuki Ertiga compact PMV, the Honda Mobilio is going to be the next major player in this lucrative segment. Honda India’s senior vice president of the Marketing & Sales department, Mr. Jnaneswar Sen has proudly said that it is going to be hard to beat the Honda Mobilio on some of the major aspects including quality, durability as well as reliability. He told to the media during an interview, that the Mobilio MPV is also going to be a great value for money vehicle to lure the Indian car buyers.
While explaining on how the Mobilio is different than the other MPVs in India, Sen said that the Mobilio is based on the company’s “lightning bolt” design philosophy that gives it unique looks. The Mobilio’s great front fascia, new grille, bold design lines make it stand out in the crowd. The vehicle’s cabin will surprise with the outstanding space, thanks to Honda’s ‘man maximum, machine minimum’ philosophy.
On the high-end Mobilio RS version, Sen said that Honda is introducing the Mobilio in India as a mid-sized style MPV, and the RS version is a further extension of the vehicle’s “style” quotient. Traditionally, the MPVs are not stylish, but Honda wanted to change that concept. Since the inception of the Mobilio’s concept, looks were a priority. The RS version of Mobilio is hoped to attract even a class above customers. Honda Cars India will announce the time models of the RS variant at the Mobilio’s official launch on 23rd July.
Mr. Jnaneswar Sen further said that the company believes that the Mobilio diesel would have about 65 percent of the total market sales, while the petrol version should account for about 35 percent. However, he added that the expected ratio will vary from state to state.
When asked that will the Mobilio also get its place in India taxi market, as most MPVs, Sen said that Honda has more than 16 years of market presence in India, and one won’t see even a single Honda car as a proper taxi. The Mobilio is meant to be a, stylish and spacious family MPV and it will continue to be the same.
Sen also pointed out that Honda’s cars are celebrated for superior quality and excellent interiors. Thus, while the Honda cars may not be most affordable, they are certainly great value for money vehicles. Apart from great quality and reliability, the Honda Mobilio will also be a great value for money proposition.
