The exclusiveness of City makes it a market leader

Honda Cars India made massive 75% profits in 2014 June, most of the gains came from Amaze and all new City. The company has been able to withstand the constrained market while many other established firms fell into the crux of recession. Honda has not only made stunning profits but has created milestone hallmarks. It’s all new City car is the new sedan ruler.

All New Honda City

The new City has surpassed the dormancy of the all time hit machine Hyundai Verna; the car not doing as well as it was in the past. Based on a report provided by (SIAM) Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers, the sale output of City drifted past the 50,000 unit mark between the January-July period. It is a huge achievement to sell 50,000 vehicles in half a year. Hyundai could not attain even half the sales within the period with Verna. The company from Jan-July sold 23,000 cars.

The competition levels between City and Verna are kind of similar, based on results produced by SIAM. The two cars fall into the mid segment category, and five occupants can comfortably sit with no hassle. The length dimension of the two vehicles varies from 4,250 to 4,500mm. Verna and City are packed with oodles of power with engine capacities that stretch to 1.6 liter with diesel and petrol engines to choose from.

Honda and Hyundai enjoy a similar high value brand; the new City arrived in Jan and has already made a mark. Honda has incorporated newness into the new City stuffed with all new ‘Exciting H design technology. It is refreshing and different from the innovative and usual ‘Fluidic design philosophy draped on Verna. Before Verna Hyundai used it in many of its models, the new styling language on City has churned millions of customer enthusiasm.

Within a couple of months post launch, the new City just flew out of the window with 9,000 units in March. Hyundai never attained a similar level with Verna. Honda managed to sell 7,500 pieces of City between January to July while Hyundai sold about 3,400 Verna’s. City is not only a harsh competitor to Verna but also Nissan Sunny, Chevrolet Sail, Tata Indigo and Volkswagen Vento.

Now the hot topic of discussion is what makes the new City so desirable, Honda cars have unbeatable shine, the new City is a progression from the past, the car is taken in well by customers, and it is true to an extent that showrooms are jam packed all the time.  After a month long success of Amaze, the new City is the emperor; there were lot of buyers for the base petrol City car that costs Rs 7.2 lakhs. The demand is higher than the high-end Amaze diesel that comes with a Rs 7.49 price tag.

Mileage is a major selling factor, the 1.6 liter diesel Verna moves with class lending 22.3 kmpl. The fuel efficiency value of City diesel is 26kmpl, Honda has focused on the necessary essential to make City a best seller, first its cost-effectiveness from the past, new design, refreshing comfort and mileage. It is a sedan king indeed.
