It has been just over a week that Honda Cars India has launched its highly awaited Mobilio MPV in the country and it is already setting sales records. The newly launched Honda Mobilio that hit the Indian car market on 23rd of July has got phenomenal response and has reportedly got bookings of more than 8,800 units within just seven days of its Indian entry.
According to the reports of an auto portal, the new Honda Mobilio MPV has got very warm response from the auto enthusiasts of the country, and the vehicle’s current booking is over 8,800.
The new Honda Mobilio MPV is the Japanese car maker’s first venture into the MPV market of India, and was a highly anticipated vehicle ever since it was unveiled at the 2014 Auto Expo earlier this year.
The Honda Mobilio 7-seater sub-compact MPV is currently offered in three model trims in the car market of India in both Petrol and Diesel versions.
Under the hood, the new Honda Mobilio diesel is powered by the 1.5 liter i-DTEC diesel motor that runs the Amaze and the new City and churns out a max power of 100 ps and a peak torque of 200 Nm. On the other hand, the petrol version packs in the 1.5 L i-VTEC petrol mill that runs the new City that generates a maximum power of 119 ps and a peak torque of 145 Nm. Both the engines are mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox.
The Mobilio is 4,386 mm long, 1,683 mm wide and 1,603 mm high. The attractively designed MPV is offered in a body color choice of seven shades, namely Majestic Blue Metallic, Carnelian Red Pearl, Urban Titanium Metallic, Taffeta White, Alabaster Silver Metallic and the exclusive Brilliant Gold Metallic.
The Honda Mobilio is loaded with the safety features of dual front SRS airbags, Anti-Lock Brake System with Electronic Brake Distribution, Pretentioner seat belts, load limiters as well as impact mitigating headrests.
The Mobilio also packs in several other world class features including dual tone interior, roof mounted AC vents for rear passengers, bottle holder for all 3 rows, slide and recline seats, 2 DIN audio system, security alarm and many more.
Honda will also launch the sporty Mobilio RS variant in September this year. The Mobilio RS will be powered by the same 1.5 liter iDTEC Earth Dreams diesel motor, with the same power figures and the same fuel economy of 24.2 km per liter as the regular variant.
The RS variant will come with many exclusive features such as new Chrome Grille, Chrome Door Handles and sportier Alloy Wheels. It will also get Chrome finished fog lights, Projector Head lights with LED inserts and Power Foldable ORVMs with integrated Turn Indicators and more.
The Honda Mobilio is the primary rival to the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, while its other market competitors include the Chevrolet Enjoy and the Nissan Evalia.
