Amaze has slipped out of the top ten best sellers list but has managed to drive sales in 2014 September

Amaze compact sedan has churned voluminous sales for Honda since inception in 2013 April. It was the company’s first diesel engine venture for Indian markets; it is a risk that has paid off, taking into consideration the extent of market economy depletion.

Amaze has been a best seller since launch; the weakened auto economy has made room for several launches and intensified competition. The company drew inspiration from Amaze to design the all new mid-size City, the common feature of Amaze and all new City is the revolutionary 1.5 liter i-DTEC diesel engine technology. The all new City like Amaze was an instant best seller, to cater to the overpowering demand, the company had to stall the production of the car in August and to accommodate the increased desire for the car, and it has established a new unit in Tapukara city of Rajasthan.

The production sustaining capacity of the new City is 15,000 units a month, Honda tried to sell as many cars as possible during the September period when production commenced. The firm emphasized more on City and subsequently lowered the production output of Amaze. The company from November aims to strengthen the production capacity of new City to 20,000 units.

Amaze was a key profit driver for Honda in 2014 September with 3,848 units, and the company sold 4,600 units of City. The highest contributor is Mobilio multipurpose vehicle (MPV) with the sale of 5,329 units. The strong selling factor of Amaze is the spacious interiors and best-in-segment 25.8kmpl mileage. It is a source of insight for the development of Hyundai Xcent and Tata Zest; it will be interesting to view the customer sentiment response for Amaze in the coming months amidst the fiery competition.

Amaze is appreciated for its ideal homely family car stance, and will continue to be cherished by millions.
