Comparison of two fashionable sedans Amaze versus Chevrolet Sail

The demand for compact sedans in India has risen like never before, and Honda made creditable profits with Amaze, especially under the constrained macro-economy. Amaze has been a hazard to its rival since launch, but what about its power with Chevrolet Sail sedan, also a classy looking car. Let’s compare the two cars and find out.

Exteriors:

Amaze is a sedan variant of Brio, it is a trendy looking car, and the magnificence of the car is highlighted on the side creases. The headlight and grille design is elegant; the rear view is great characterized by radiating tail lights and solid chunk of chrome along the boot. The exterior appearance of Amaze is awe-inspiring at first sight, and it does not get boring at all.

The new Sail sedan has interior and exterior modifications, and it is amazingly striking at first sight. It’s got a picturesque fashion statement that is among the smartest in its class. On the front is a graceful symmetry of head light and grille, and the changes include chrome decorations on fog lights and chrome piping surrounding the headlights.

Interiors:

The quality of interior décor of Amaze is on par with other Honda brands, and consumers will get reminded of a typical Brio atmosphere. The value of materials used is first rate and Honda has strategically positioned the equipments for optimum convenience. The 2045mm wheelbase dimension offers superior drive dynamics and increased rear leg room, the 400 litre boot volume is the best in its segment. Everything about Amaze interiors is great, and the only issue is the non foldable rear seats.

The interiors of Chevrolet Sail sedan is vibrant characterised by a two tone black and beige décor. The dashboard is painted in a jet black shade, and the trendy beige and black combination glows to no end on door trims. The company has replaced the 1-Din audio system with a fresh 2-Din model with music streaming and phone Bluetooth connectivity.

Engine:

Amaze petrol is fitted with an efficient 1.2 litre i-VTEC engine that generates 109Nm and 88PS, and moves with a top class 18kpl mileage and coupled with 5-speed automatic transmission gearbox. The diesel model is fitted with a potent 1.5 litre turbocharged i-DTEC engine that churns 200Nm and 100PS and runs on a best-in-segment 25.8kmpl mileage.

Sail runs on a fierce 1.3 litre turbocharged SDE Smartech engine that emits 190Nm and 75bhp and the petrol model is powered with a fiery 1.2 litre mill that yields 108Nm and 83bhp.

Price:

The price structure of Amaze is Rs 5 to 7.55 lakhs and Chevrolet Sail sedan costs Rs 5.21 to 7.65 lakhs.

Chevrolet Sail sedan looks more fashionable to Honda Amaze, the comfort level and décor quality is equally admirable in both cars. Amaze is however more powerful on the engine front, the petrol and diesel cars move on 1.2 and 1.5 litre capacity respectively  and Sail sedan is fitted with 1.3 litre diesel and 1.2 litre petrol engine.

 

Amaze is a better car on comparing feature and engine richness and price.
