The acclaimed Japanese firm, Honda is re-building the Jazz and the expected arrival period is 2015. The company has postponed the launch of the car, earlier it mentioned of its aim to introduce the model within the current fiscal year, which would have been around the same time as Mobilio. The main reason for delay is the increased demand for current range of products, the request is so enormous that the company has to find space to fit its production line and to accommodate this; the company has constructed a second unit.
The CEO and President of Honda Cars India, Hironori Kanayama said, ‘’ the customer desire for present range of products is gigantic, to an extent that we will have to find ways to cater the need of increased desires, and hence the start of second factory construction. ‘’The company has not yet zeroed in on a set launch date, but hopes to release the car sometime in 2015.
The Jazz stepped into Indian markets in 2009; it was a professionally sculpted and fashionable car that came with a price. The pricing went beyond the Rs 7 lakhs mark, but was later reduced by Rs 1.6 lakhs. Honda is working on its vehicle manufacturing expansion plan, and its vision by 2016 March is to construct another 100 dealers together with the current list of 200 dealerships. The company lately inaugurated the 200th dealership unit.
The dealership expansion plan by 2016 March is the presence of 300 units all over India. It is an addition of 100 extra dealerships from the current 200 range, among the 200 dealership units, 75% is scattered around towns, tier III and tier II cities. The increased expansion potential is a reflection of great product turnover and increased consumer trust.
The vehicle manufacturing output of Honda Cars India has been impressive, the current capacity is 2.4 lakh vehicles per year, and plan is to increase it to 3 lakh vehicles. The integral operational establishment of Honda is imprinted on the Tapukara factory in Rajasthan and Greater Noida unit in UP.
