The jury of this award comprised of the top lady automotive writers from across 15 countries, who chose the new Honda Jazz as the winner for this award. The Kia Soul came second in the same category.
The award is based on the consideration of ten various criteria including the car’s design & function, style & appeal, comfort, drive quality and storage. Moreover, the other specific factors related to this award consisted of the sex appeal, ‘wow’ factor and value for money. These factors were considered by the judges, as they felt that these are crucial criteria for the female car consumers.
The all new Honda Jazz premium hatchback has already been garnering praises, ever since its global market launch for its increased cabin space, enhanced design and improved drive dynamics. The winning of the title of the 2014 Women’s World Car of the Year has certainly added a new feather to the cap of the new Honda Jazz.
Though the all new Jazz has already available in the international markets for sale, in the Indian car market, it has not been launched as yet. However, Honda India has plans to launch the all new Jazz premium hatchback in India in the first quarter of next year. The all new Jazz hatchback will be the resurrection of the brand in India, as the previous generation model of the car was discontinued in India in 2014, owing to poor market sales primarily because of high price tag and the lack of a diesel model. This time around, Honda is sure to price it better and is also going to offer the diesel variant of this car.
Post its market launch in India, the all new Honda Jazz premium hatchback will be competing with the likes of the all new Hyundai Elite i20, Maruti Suzuki Swift and Volkswagen Polo in the Indian premium hatchback segment.
The all new Honda Jazz in the Indian car market will be powered by a 1.2 liter petrol mill borrowed from the Brio and Amaze cars. For the first time ever, the Jazz is also going to come in its new diesel avatar, powered by the much acclaimed 1.5 liter i-DTEC diesel mill which has been the company’s game changer in India.
The Jazz is much loved in the international markets for its practicality and reliability, and these are the primary reasons why the women car buyers also prefer this car. The Jazz is also a spacious hatchback with flexible and smart cabin arrangement, which is better than the cars in its own segment. Honda is expected to make the India spec new Jazz very practical as well. Apart from good looks and high functionality the car is also expected to come to India with an attractive price tag this time to ensure its success.
