The seven-seater MPV on the base of Honda City platform under development

The Honda a leading Japanese car manufacturing company is known for its class of manufacturing and innovative technologies fitted in the modern vehicle. The company has started some more development and as a new development company is creating a seven-seater MPV. This model will be developed on the platform of the well-known sedan model of the company the City. The new model is named as Honda Shuttle in some countries, while in some countries it is named as Honda Odyssey. It is also developed on the platform of the Honda Jazz. It is a closest rival to Toyota Innova in the Indian auto market.

Honda is developing a new, larger seven seater MPV to slot in above the Mobilio which will be based on the Honda City / Honda Jazz platform. The new MPV, sold as the Honda Odyssey or the Honda Shuttle in other countries could go up against the Toyota Innova in India. This model will be in a premium segment and also function as a luxurious seven-seater for those who like such MPvs. It can be named as Honda Shuttle or Honda Odyssey in Indian auto market.

The Honda always believes in providing something new to the customers and therefore constantly try to have something better than before. The company has once again proved that it is still working on the same line of production and therefore within a few days it will have this new model in the MPV market.

Primarily this sort of model which is known as Honda Odyssey was launched in 1995 in the domestic market of the company. It had gained huge popularity in the local market as a carrier in the history of the automobile market of Japan. Presently this model is the fifth generation model of the basic model. The model is available with a huge range of engines. In Indian also the model will be available in both the variants: petrol as well as diesel. Hence it will be able to serve the purpose of the people who like any of the variants. As per the company it will not have a model with all the wheel drives or with an engine larger than 2.4-litre petrol engine.

As per market sources the new Honda MPV is too similar to the latest mode of Jazz which will be launched in a few days. The front side of this model is same as of Mobilio and the rear side is the C-pillar and has a greenhouse design. The dashboard of the new MPV will be similar to Honda City or Honda Jazz and the models will also be available in the same color range of the City or Jazz. This model also will have infotainment and features such as start-stop button and touchscreen AC regulator. However, the price of this model has been yet not available but as per the sources, it will be in the same range of Toyota Innova to compete with it.
