Japanese auto maker Honda has started exporting the new version of the upcoming Jazz to South Africa from its manufacturing plant based in Rajasthan. Company has started shipping the car before the launch of the new car in India.
With the help of its extended arm in India, Honda Cars India, the car maker is actively engaged in the massive production of the new car at its Tapukara plant. It is believed that the company has invested an amount of Rs 380 crores in order to enhance the production capacity from 1.20 lakh units to 1.80 lakh units in a year.
The Senior Vice President of HCIL has been reported saying that they have already initiated the shipment of their upcoming Jazz to South Africa directly from its India based plant. Based in Tapukara, the company’s plant is presently manufacturing compact sedan Amaze as well mid-sized Sedan City specifically meant for the Indian market. It is reported that the company has successfully shipped around 600 cars including City, Amaze, Jazz as well as Brio to South Africa and some of them were also sent to Nepal. As per the speculations, it is possible that the Honda Cars India will make the debut of its new generation Jazz in the month of July.
Honda has managed to make sale of over fifty lakh units of the existing model of Jazz across the globe considering Japan and US. The previous model of Jazz was introduced in 2009 at a price range of Seven Lakh Rupees which after some time came down by INR 1.6 Lakh. The production came to a halt in the year 2013 due to the decrease in the demands and sales. However, now Honda has planned to increase its operating and sales network in the country by covering around 200 cities as well as towns by this financial year from the present 152 cities.
As per the Senior Vice President, the company is looking for options to increase its network with approximately 300 units in 200 cities. The present status is 232 outlets in 152 cities and because of this the company has decided to start its operations in almost all cities and towns in the fiscal year.
It is speculated that the company has aimed to at least make an annual sale of 3 lakh units by the year 2016-2017. In the previous fiscal year, 2014-2015, the total sales seen by the company was 1,89,062 units in comparison with the 1,34,339 units in the last year. There was an incredible increase of 40.73% in the total sales of the cars in the domestic market. The company has built its stance by bringing forth compact sedan Amaze, small car Brio, multipurpose car Mobilio, mid-sized car City and also its premium SUV, CRV.
