The luxury car segment is quite crowded with the competitors taking on each other though their new models and by modification of the existing ones. BMW, Mercedes and Audi are among the biggest players in this particular segment. Among them Mercedes and BMW holds a special place owing to the features and technological innovations they infuse into their products, redefining the word luxury. The battle for the top in the segment was ignited once again when Mercedes- Benz began an intensely aggressive strategy earlier this year while Audi and BMW launched a string of new products this year alone. It is no rocket science to assume how intensely the luxury car makers are competing with each other to become the biggest player in the segment.
While the Indian car market is still opening up to the luxury car segment, the market keeps growing at a very good rate. BMW, now eyeing India as a major Territory to launch its supercars in India introduced for the first time its hybrid supercar in the country a few years back and more recently the company commenced the sale of another successful one among their cars, X6. The very recently introduced BMW supercar which is a facelift of the X6, is priced at a very good 1.15 crore rupees and gearing up to compete against the upcoming industry monsters like Mercedes Benz GLE class. But the Bavarian car maker giant, isn’t looking to stop here, and planning to go much further in the Indian Territory. Although called as rich man’s cars, BMW products are touted as better than others when it comes to the luxury car segment.
Apart from the facelifted x6 and i8, BMW is also expected to bring more models such as X6 M, X5 M, 3 series facelift along with the 1 series. Also in the long list is the upmarket and modified version of its immensely popular and famous luxurious 7 series with the sedan 5 series. However, keeping M series aside, most of the upcoming cars are the slightly facelifted version of BMW’s previous successful cars which comes with a slightly tweaked design, better interiors than the previous ones and a longer list of features.
Among the cars mentioned above the facelift versions of the 1 series, 3 series and 5 series have already been presented in the international market and have been quite warmly received by the luxury car fan boys. Each of the aforementioned cars is expecting to arrive in Indian market for the customers by the end of present year, 2015. The 7 series got launched in India some time back and it is also expected that to maintain the healthy rate of competition BMW will also present its facelifted models before launching the new models in the series. If reports are to be believed the company will also be bringing the newer generation version of 2016 X1 by the end of this calendar year.
And these launches are enough to scare off the likes of Mercedes and Audi and will be further intensifying the market.
