Maruti Suzuki Ertiga facelift spied

Maruti Suzuki, world’s leading part Indian part Japanese Automaker Company has been proudly standing at the top in the Indian passenger car market for a very long time. However, presently the position has become quite unsure with the Hyundai and Honda catching up fast. But an array of new launches and facelifts has been saving the company quite well. In the list of the Maruti Suzuki products facelift, enters a new model, the high profile MPV, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.

The car got launched 3 years back in 2012 and has been a moderately successful Maruti Suzuki vehicle. But moderate does not seem to work with world’s top auto company, so in order to add more people to the fan base, the company has decided to bring a face lifted version of the popular MPV in the international market for the first time since it got launched in 2012. But while, the ardent fans have a few speculations regarding the look, design and the features of the facelifted MPV, it got caught in the camera in Indonesia.

However, it looks like a very delicately planned act by Maruti Suzuki in order to create hype before it debuts in Indonesia during the Gaikindo International Auto show to be held this year. We must say, a picture does speak a thousand words. And the revealed pictures going viral online are giving us bold hints about how good this car is going to be. And going by the hype it has created, the high sales number is pretty much inevitable. Let’s be a little judgemental and try to judge the car based on the spy pictures.

The new facelifted 2015 Ertiga will feature a much bolder three slat front grille which is laden with chrome, chrome around the beautiful and classy fog lamps and it will feature more chrome just above the number plate in the rear. It is clearly understood that Maruti Suzuki does wants to give the car a premium look as the centre of attraction is going to be the bold use of chrome and it does make the overall design look more premium than before. What also is added in the new facelift version of Ertiga is a changed and a more aggressive and stylish bumper. The rear side of the car is getting taillights extension which runs to the number plates which gives the impression of exotic reflectors.

However about the interiors we are still fairly clueless as the leaked pictures aren’t very revealing on that front. But while we expect the vehicle to retain most of the interior features intact, we certainly do hope that a few changes are going to be applied. We expect a touchscreen infotainment system with premium features like keyless entry and start-stop on at least the top trims.

About the engine, it is expected that this will remain the same. 1.4 litre petrol and a 1.3 litre diesel engine are expected to be powering the car. But the improved mileage is actually the need of the hour. Let’s see how Maruti responds.
