Honda Cars India has created another wave of interest with the unveiling of the all new City ever since it had created a great impact with the Amaze’s launch. The Amaze compact sedan has been a real turning point for Honda in India in terms of amazing success.
The Amaze is not only the first ever diesel car offering from Honda in India but it is also the most successful car in the company’s Indian portfolio. The Amaze’s affordable price made it an irresistible choice for the Indian car consumers, while its capable package and the best fuel efficiency (diesel model) in the country got accolades from the market experts as well. The Amaze’s astral success prompted Honda to bring in a whole new range of cars to India in both petrol and diesel variants. Recently, Honda has unveiled the all new City along with its first time diesel counterpart. The all new Honda City will have a lot to offer to its esteemed owners, while its diesel counterpart is expected to take the company’s sales to a new high.
The 2014 Honda City in both petrol and diesel will be hitting the Indian car market for sale in the next month, that is January, 2014.
The Japanese luxury car maker is really looking forward to become the leading car maker in India from the leading premium car maker by introducing a slew of new cars. Apart from the all new City, Honda plans to introduce the Mobilio MPV very soon followed by the introduction of the all new 2014 Jazz hatchback. The Jazz was previously discontinued in India and the all new model will mark its comeback. Honda is also expected to launch the brand new Vezel compact SUV in order to take a slice of the highly sought after compact SUV segment of India.
As for the 2014 City, the bigger and better sedan is all ready to take on the Indian car market by storm. The sedan has definitely become a lot more appealing and smarter than before with an added boost of elegance. It does look similar to the previous model but has everything new. The new front grille with loads of chrome garnish and eye soothing character lines running down the side profile of the sedan are really impressive. The redesigned tail lights and an added chrome doze heighten the premium looks of the car.
The new City’s high-end model will be packed to the hilt with premium features. A stop/start push button, rear A.C vents, Bluetooth, 5 inch infotainment display screen, USB port, Cruise Control, advanced audio system with speakers and a sunroof makes for some of the features in the long list.
Under the hood new City’s petrol gets the same 1.5 liter i-VTEC engine that is tweaked for enhanced performance. The City diesel will be powered by the Amaze’s 1.5 liter EarthDreams mill also after being tweaked. The diesel variant will also get a 6 speed manual transmission.
