Honda has finally unveiled the much awaited Honda City for the year 2014, at its global event at New Delhi. This fourth generation car is indeed sharper, bigger and sleeker than most of its predecessors and is considered the pivotal evolution from its predecessors. The vehicle features the H design, which would be carried over with its other models as well. The new Honda City comes in both petrol and diesel options and is indeed the fourth generation car, whose first variant was released in 1996. The current generation Honda City uses the same platform as that of the Honda Jazz.

Interiors:
The interiors of this fourth generation Honda city have been made dramatically different and is looks current and sophisticated than most of the happening cars on the road. It particularly features high gloss finish around its dashboard and uses a touchscreen interface for a/c and stereo functioning. The car has an armrest and air con vents for the rear passengers and there is a bottle holder to add to the convenience of the rear seat passengers. Info rich instrument cluster, Bluetooth connectivity, rear parking camera, sunroof, keyless push button start, electric ORVMs etc. along with ABS and airbags are added convenient features on this vehicle.
Exteriors:
This fourth generation Honda city measures roughly 4440 mm in length and its wheelbase has been increased by 50 mm than its predecessors. It is one of the most spacious cars known and has the best knee room, head room and shoulder room. It is also spacious at its upfront and has a big and usable boot space.
Engine and performance:
This all new Honda City 2014 is features with a 1.5 liter petrol and diesel engine and the petrol engine is same as that of the previous generation Honda city, with its overall performance improved. The engine features low tension oil seals and a zigzag pattern for piston coating. The output figures of the engine has not been shared yet but is expected that its power and torque would go up to enhance its overall fuel consumption. The variants of its diesel engine have been borrowed from Amaze Sedan and are 1.5 liter in capacity. The engine is made of aluminum to be of light weight. The car is offered with two gearboxes, diesel powered city would feature a 5 speed manual transmission system and the petrol version is featured with a 5 speed manual system along with CVT transmission.
Price and Availability:
The new Honda City is spacious and is well equipped and is clear modern than most of its competitors. It is also dynamically better sorted and there would be a 70:30 split between the diesel and petrol versions. It has been expected that the car would cost Rs 50,000 more for every spec and the diesel version would cost at leasta lakh more than its petrol version. The car is expected to be launched in January 2014 and the bookings for the same are already on the way. The waiting period for the car is expected to be high after its launch for the initial few months.
