The Auto Expo of 2014 has been quite special for Honda, as they had plethora of products to be launched at the Expo event. Out of the list of products showcased by Honda, what really impressed the spectators was the view of Honda Mobilio and Honda Jazz. As both the products are India-based products and will be the first to be released here.
Inspired from the Honda’s famous Brio hatchback series, the amazingly new Mobilio MPV is a dazzling sporty and young release. Cloaked with new headlamps, brilliant hood, oval shaped fog lights with black plastic case, bold straight plank chrome grille with several styling components. The front look of the multi- purpose vehicle looks like Amaze compact sedan and the sport side crease running down the B-pillar separates the car from its other siblings.
The overall look of the car is enhanced by 15-inch wheels and the rear part of the car receives a stunning revision with innovative tail lights, rear windscreen and sporty look. The aerodynamic lines running to back to tail lights enhance the outer appearance of the car. The wheelbase of the vehicle has been enhanced by 245mm, and now it is totalled at 2650mm.
The all-new Honda Mobilio MPV looks very much like the Honda Amaze, as both the vehicles boast of same interiors too. However, this one being a more posh and premium release from Honda, in comparison to Amaze offers better fit and great touch up with top quality material.
Speaking about the other specs of the car, the MPV boasts of 3-spoke steering wheel, air conditioner, audio system and dual dials. The second low is foldable which offers spacious legroom to accommodate three occupants without any suppression or squeezing. The last row of the car is comfortable for two passengers. The car provides a spacious and comfy boot space too.
Discussing the engine of the MPV, Honda Mobilio MPV comes in diesel and petrol version. The petrol car has been powered with 1.5l i-VTEC petrol mill churning out power of 117bhp and peak torque of 145Nm and 1.5l i-DTEC diesel mill offering power of 98bhp and peak torque of 200Nm which has been used in Honda Amaze previously. The car will stand directly in competition to Nissan Evalia, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Chevrolet Enjoy.
While the diesel version comes with manual gearbox transmission, the petrol version will also be rendered in CVT from 5-speed manual transmission gearbox. The top notch MPV version comes with double front airbags, defogger, rear wash/ wiper, ABS, steering integrated controls and alloy wheels.
