Honda is geared for a big launch next month, Mobilio MPV; the company might export the car post launch. Honda has formulated its launch plan for 2014 to 15 financial year. The company has worked on its export strategy and will invest Rs 800 crores on exports. Honda’s export vision for 2014-15 fiscal year is to spearhead past the 10,000 mark.
Honda has made impressive profits in 2013 to 14 fiscal period, with massive revenue gains of Rs 420 crore from exports alone. In the current financial period the company is keen to achieve the profits to Rs 800 crore. The firm will export various components like cylinder head and transmission, and crank shaft from its Tapukara unit in Rajasthan. The favorable export destinations are UK, Latin America and South East Asia.
The company exported 5,500 models in the last fiscal inclusive of Amaze and Brio. The cars were exported to South Africa, Bhutan and Nepal; Honda is geared to bring in its big launch Mobilio a seven seat model in July. The car will be sold with diesel and petrol engines. Honda launched Mobilio in Indonesia and it is a huge hit, and the same response can be expected from Indian markets. The car is centered on attractive Asian markets.
In order to strengthen its production network Honda will spice up its manufacture capacity in Tapukara with the establishment of second unit. The firm aims to roll out 2 lakh units from the plant and is keen to manufacture many more units within two to three years, and the expected target in 2016 to 17 is 3 lakh units in domestic market and 60 lakh units in global markets.
Mobilio has all the characteristics of a wonder car from its enormous length, sparkling shine to its vast cabin room. Honda has built the car to cater to the lifestyles of Indian demographic where the close family bond system lasts for years. Mobilio is potent on engine front and will move on powerful petrol 1.5 litre diesel and petrol engine. Sources say that the company might launch a 1.2 litre iVTEC engine as well that will generate 109Nm and 86.7bhp. The petrol 1.5 liter iVTEC petrol engine will have a phenomenal displacement capacity of 1497cc.
