Honda unveiled a big launch for global market the new City, the car launched in India in early 2014. It is an instant blockbuster hit and a leading profit contributor along with Amaze in 2014 May. The company released the car in Philippines on the 22nd of April. The car is doing well in the country with 2,500 bookings.

The impact of the car in Philippines many not be as vast as India, in May alone Honda sold more than 7,200 units of City. The auto market in Philippines is on similar lines as India in terms of development. The country also has a huge network of small vehicles like India. The Philippine auto market witnessed a steep growth in May 2014 compared to the corresponding year with 23.5% gains. The company sold 22,815 commercial and new vehicles in the period.

Majority of market share volume in Philippines is gained by Toyota with 40% growth. In May itself the firm sold about 9,132 vehicles, Honda is the sixth most profitable auto firm in terms of sales. The sale output last month is 934 pieces. Honda does not hold much of the gains in the country and is hence pretty evident that the new City is an impressive performer.

So much was spoken about the new City months before its launch; it is not just a progression of the earlier car, but an evolutionary model. The uniqueness lies in new design technologies called Sleek Cross Motion and Exciting H design. The car has borne great fortunes for the company in India since its inception.

The Philippine spec City will move on a robust iVTEC 1.5 liter engine that generates powerful energies of 14.8 kgm torque and 120PS power. The engine is coupled with CVT and 5 speed manual transmission also used on Indian spec car. Honda has stressed on safety to a great extent, all variants of the car have Hill Hold, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), curtain airbags and side airbags.

The new City is among the empowering models in India along with Amaze, the main customer grabbing feature is the best-in-segment mileage of 26kmpl. A combination of great looks and class rending mileage is a dream come true combination for many. The interiors are grand as well with vibrant beige and brown décor. The cabin room is enormously spacious and five occupants can sit comfortably with no room for stuffiness. The front seats have head rests and there is plenty of room between rear seats. Consumers can enjoy time of luxury with advanced audio system with five inch touch screen with Hands-free telephone, FM/AM, iPod, USB and Aux-in connectivity.

The new Honda City is a reliable and comfortable car; the class performing 26kmpl mileage is a boon in today’s intensely competitive world.
