The new generation 2016 Honda Civic sedan has created a wave of appreciation, ever since the Japanese car major revealed the new model to the world. The Honda Civic sedan is not only a hugely popular and reliable family sedan in the world, but also one of the most crucial products that Honda Motor depends on. Thus, when the Civic’s popularity was at risk owing to its boring tag due to its lackluster design, Honda quickly radicalized the sedan. The new generation Honda sedan is thus not only a stunning new car, but also a sportier and fun to drive sedan along with all its patent superb qualities intact which made it a world’s favorite.
Now, the all new Honda Civic that is the tenth generation model of the car is all set to hit several car markets of the world. It has also already been reported that Honda Motor has already started preparing the new generation Honda Civic sedan for the Asian markets and has commenced the car’s testing in such markets. A Thai Facebook page on the all new Honda Civic model has now posted a new spy picture of the new Civic. This spied new generation Honda Civic model has been caught testing on the roads of Thailand, which clearly indicates that the new Civic is soon to hit the Thai car market.
As per the revealed spy shot, the all new Honda Civic model that is testing in Thailand looks mostly identical to the US specific sedan model. The testing new Civic prototype’s overall design language is very much similar to the US model that was revealed in the month of October in 2015.
The spied model in Thailand was spied while it was busy doing its road tests wearing minimal camouflage in the form of a silver cover that revealed most of the exterior styling features. This testing prototype Civic model also featured a small rear wing that might be offered in the market as an optional feature. However, only the rear end of the testing sedan has been caught by the spy shutterbugs, which seems to look pretty same as the US-spec Civic.
The all new Honda Civic sedan model that is meant for the US car market gets powered by a 2 liter VTEC DOHC 4 cylinder petrol motor that is able to churn out a max power of 158 bhp and 187 Nm of peak torque. There is also a newly developed 1.5 liter VTEV turbocharged mill which can generate a peak power of 174 bhp and a top torque of 220 Nm. Transmission duties are done by a 6 speed manual and a CVT automatic transmission options.
The Japanese car maker’s Indian counterpart, Honda Cars India is highly speculated to be contemplating resurrecting the Civic brand in the country. For the Indian car market, the new Civic is expected to get a diesel avatar as well. The new generation Honda Civic is expected to be unveiled in India at the 2016 Auto Expo, along with the new Accord sedan and brand new Honda BR-V SUV.
