Honda Cars India has worked on smart strategies with its cars; the firm has noted month long profits even when many other established firms in the country are struggling to make the desired sales. The auto market in India weakened to a considerable level, the major spoiler was the steep depreciation of Indian rupee. Inflation rose like never before and the country had to bear the crux of high interest and fuel rates. Despite the chain of undesirable events Honda’s profitability value remained rigid caused by Amaze and new City.
Amaze is Honda’s first diesel project for Indian markets; the response has been mind blowing since launch last April. It has been just over a year since Amaze was rolled out to the public, and Honda has sold a massive 88,000 units of the car. It is also the first below four meter car to run on potent diesel engine. Honda introduced the car to fight the stiff battle with Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire. The car has been doing so well over the months that Hyundai introduced Xcent and Tata launched Zest to overpower the profitable image of Amaze.
It was a risk to bring in Amaze last year, when the company did not have a diesel car for Indian markets. A first time venture has transformed into fruitful fortunes. The car is fitted with robust four cylinder iDTEC 1.5 liter diesel turbocharged diesel engine that generates 200Nm and 100PS. The diesel engine is attached to firm suspension that lead to a controlled and smooth ride encounter.
Amaze is a sedan version of Brio; the desirable characteristics of the car are enormous interior room for a sub four meter sedan, powerful iVTEC petrol and iDTEC diesel power trains, and best-in-class 25.8kmpl mileage. The new City is not just a progression from the earlier car, but an evolutionary one. Honda has tailored the car with all new style technologies such as Exciting H Design and Sleek Cross Motion. The company has used the same iVTEC and iDTEC engine formula into the core and its fuel-efficiency value is 26kmpl.
Honda has another big launch called Mobilio MPV, the car will arrive in July, Mobilio is a MPV version of Brio. The car is built in the company’s new Tapukara unit in Rajasthan. Honda Cars India Limited is working on strengthening the production capacity and manufacturing output of the car by the coming fiscal. Honda is also keen to expand its dealership output in Tier III and Tier II cities. The company plans to build 58 new dealerships in many cities.
Mobilio looks magnificent, it is a strong threat to Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, and the inner décor is grand with vibrant dual tone beige theme. The car will run on iVTEC and iDTEC engines and is thereby likely to churn blockbuster sales. Amaze and City contributed highest sales in May 2014, Honda sold 4,752 units of City and 7,218 units of Amaze. There were lots of takers for Brio with the sale of 1,333 units.
