Honda has now earned its third place in Indian auto ranking; Amaze and City together have contributed incredible sales. The market share of Honda Cars India is 40% on year-on-year increase, higher than Maruti Suzuki’s market share of 20% and notches higher than 13% growth of Hyundai. In July Honda sold 15,709 units.
The CEO and president of Honda Motor India, Yoshiyuki Matsumoto said, Honda Cars India is headed towards 25% gain in Asia Pacific sales, and expects sale of 1.2 million vehicles by 2017 March. In order to hit the 1.2 million mark Honda is working on a product map plan and hopes to introduce many more products and expand its dealership portfolio in the country to 230 by 2015 March from the current capacity of 179.
