The largest car market of China loves large, brawny SUV models. Thus, all the car manufacturing majors of the world are eyeing to make profits in the Chinese car market by catering to the high demands of the huge large SUV thirst of the Chinese car buyers. All the Japanese car majors are always most interested in the Chinese market, and it is very apparent that Honda Motor is also very eager to please its Chinese customers.
This time around, Honda Motors is going to add to its lineup a flagship crossover model named as the Honda UR-V. The new UR-V is scheduled to make its debut at the 2016 Beijing motor Show which is going to take place by the end of April. This premium SUV model will be most probably be based on the Concept D that was displayed at the 2015 Shanghai Motor Show. This new flagship SUV model is the result of a joint venture of a Chinese partner named Dongfeng and Honda Motor.
Honda Motor has already applied for registering the trademark of the Honda UR-V premium SUV in China. The new Chinese-Japanese Crossover model is most likely to hit the car market of China in the last quarter of this current calendar year of 2016. The new Honda UR-V flagship SUV model will be coming with midsized dimensions and will be a little larger than the existing compact SUV Honda CR-V, but it will not be as flashy and massively aggressive like the Concept D in terms of the design language. The production version of the new upcoming Honda UR-V SUV model will be flaunting a toned down design language which will be more practical as well as good looking.
The new UR-V will be flaunting a contemporary premium styling like most of the premium Honda vehicle models. The crossover/SUV model will be boasting of very aggressive design along with a highly stylized front fascia. The SUV concept comes with a very stylish tapering roofline, mammoth 21 inch stylish alloy wheels, beefy wheel arches and immense skirts. The rear design of the SUV flaunts great styling features including very eye-catching C-shaped LED tail lights and a very boldly styled rear bumper. The vehicle concept also gets a pretty looking spoiler that protrudes out.
According to the latest reports, the new upcoming Honda UR-V will be packing in a 2.4 liter and a 2.0 liter petrol mill under its hood. The engines will be skillfully mated to will a 6 speed automatic transmission gearbox to transfer the generated power to the front wheels of the vehicle. The top of the range model are also expected to come with all wheel drive system. The report has also added by saying that the UR-V will be tagged in the range of 250,000 Yuan to 425,000 Yuan.
Chinese manufacturer, Dongfeng has already launched the Honda CR-V and XR-V in China in collaboration with Honda Motor and the UR-V will be the third model.
