Honda city has been here in India for quite some time now and has been one of the best sellers in the Indian market too. The Renault introduced the Scala recently in the year 2012. Both of them are extremely gorgeous sedans in terms of looks. Let’s check the specifications and features of both the sedans.
Exteriors:
Honda has given the sedan a sharp and bold look it has a chrome radiator grille and has a Honda badge in it. At the side the same look is maintained with body colored mirrors and door handles. There is a sharp line which starts from the front of the car to its rear and adds a masculine look to the Honda City. The shape of the Honda boy is arrow designed and looks tremendous.
Renault Scala looks almost like Nissan sunny with just few minor changes. The front bumper of the sedan has been tweaked to give it a bold and stylistic look. The grille has been changed to make the front more stylistic but it looks much like its elder brother Fluence. The ORVM and turn indicators are there on the side of the car which is electronically adjustable from the inside. The extended rear looks much more like the Nissan sunny but still it has got posh look in it.
Interiors:
Honda city has royal interiors and has a seating capacity of 5people. It has beige interiors which make it look classy; it is comfortable and spacious and has enough leg room and headroom inside the sedan. Door armrest and spacious glove box are some of the extra features that you will cherish in the Honda city.
High quality fabric has been used in the Scala; it has a powerful and effective ac in it the car also has rear ac vents for more comfort of the rear passengers. It also has cup holders inside the sedan; it has power windows but no power seats even for the driver. There are audio controls mounted in the power steering so that the driver does not have to push himself to reach to the audio controls.
Power:
The city has been powered by a 1.5 litre 1497cc petrol engine produces 116.38bhp of maximum power and 146Nm torque. The Honda city comes in both manual and automatic variants.
The Renault Scala is powered by a 1.5 litre of diesel motor which generates about 84.8bhpof peak power and 200nm of Torque. The petrol version gets powered by a 1.5 litre of motor which generates 97.6bhp of power and 134 Nm of torque. The engine has 5speed manual transmission in it.
Both the Scala and the City are nifty performers and shows great performance when pushed in the highways and also offers great comfort and practicality too. Renault Scala has been priced at Rs. 691721 (ex showroom Pune) whereas the Honda City has been price at Rs. 851089 (ex showroom Pune) for the petrol version.
