The Honda Brio Amaze has been in the news for sometime as a senior official of Honda Cars India confirmed that this entry level sedan is going to come to the Indian car market in April 2013, though with no appropriate date of launch.
Now, it seems that the Honda Brio Amaze sedan may very well be launched on April 18. This launch date comes from a Tamil magazine and they seem to be very much sure about the accuracy of the news.
The Honda Brio Amaze is all set to become the first Honda car in India with a diesel engine variant. This new sedan will be powered by a 1.5 litre iDTEC diesel engine. Honda India has kept mum about the specifications of the new engine but according to sources its max. torque is 200Nm and that the sedan tips the scales at 1,050kgs.
The Brio Amaze’s petrol variant will be powered by the same 1.2 liter i-VTEC petrol engine as the Jazz. The engine has a max power output of 90PS and a peak torque of 110Nm. The car will be equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission and an auto option is also expected to follow.
The Brio Amaze has a similar looking front design as its hatchback version, while its rear gets a well crafted boot. The sedan’s interiors would be similar to the Brio hatchback and comes with entire beige upholstery. The Brio Amaze has enhanced leg space than its hatchback avatar and has sculpted front seats that would make the journey in the sedan a real pleasure for the rear passengers.
The new sedan, Brio Amaze comes with the tried and tested brand name of Honda along with the India favourite diesel engine, which gives the impression that the car is all set to put the Indian roads ablaze.
With an expected price tag of INR 5.25 lakhs the Honda Brio Amaze is to fight it out with the hot favourite Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire.
