Honda car firm in India announced of car price hikes of its popular models which came into effect from the 1st of April, the Accord, Brio hatch, and City have higher values. A company official also announced that the price of CR-V and Amaze has risen. Honda at the moment aims to preserve prices of models, and will analyze sale trends before considering price hikes. Other highly recognized firms such as Toyota Kirloskar Motor, General Motors and Maruti Suzuki have also increases prices of some of their eminent models.
The current economic trend has had a massive impact on car market with the value of Indian rupee depreciating to a large extent especially against the strong US currency. The weakening of Indian rupee has affected sales in all segments to a significant level.
Even with the fluctuating value of Indian currency, Honda India has managed to generate admirable profits registering an incredible growth of 45% in the April-June period. The company was able to release impressive sale figures of 29,127 portions. The recently released Amaze is a major contributor to the significant sales with 4965 portions compared to Brio hatch with 2,375 segments, 1,830 units of City, 100 and 27 units of CR-V and Accord respectively. The export segment generated profit figures of 761 segments for June 2013.
According to Honda, the customer satisfaction and buying power with Amaze is impeccable, and has satisfied company’s hopes and the excellent sale trend is continuing. The customer turn over for the car is 18,000, the company is hoping for stronger figures in the future.
