Among these new cars, it is known that the company is about to bring 4 new products in the form of the 2014 Jazz, the Brio based MPV, a new compact SUV based on Jazz and the new 2014 City.
It is also known that in 2014, Honda’s car factory in Rajasthan will commence production. The classy Honda City sedan has created a niche for itself in the Indian car market and is known for its quality and premium class. Honda is going to heighten the oomph quotient of the car with the next-generation City.
The all new 2014 Honda City is based on the new Jazz hatchback’s platform. The new City will be powered by a 1.5 liter petrol engine as well as a 1.5 liter i-DTEC diesel mill. While the diesel engine is expected to remain unchanged, the petrol burner is to be tweaked for better performance and fuel efficiency.
The ongoing range of the Honda City sedan in India was launched back in the year 2008. This means that the current model has completed it cycle of 5 years and it is time for the company to give it a major revamp or replace. Honda is working right on this and the Japanese car major is about to replace the City, and bring in the all new 2014 City with entirely new looks and feel.
Earlier, it was expected that the 2014 Honda City is going to launch by the first half of 2014. However, according to the sources the latest news is that the next generation Honda City can hit the Indian market as soon as December, this year. While the much speculated next-generation Jazz hatchback is scheduled to be unveiled in the international car markets towards the end of this year, there has been very less details about the all new City’s launch.
Both the all new 2014 Honda City and the 2014 Jazz are based on the same new platform. However, the new City is a more significant launch for India, considering the sedan’s long success in the market as compared against the discontinued Jazz.
