Honda Cars India is on cloud 9 after the continuous overwhelming sales growth that the company is witnessing ever since the launch of the Amaze compact sedan in April this year. The Japanese luxury car brand is elated by its new found success and is all braced up to bring in a slew of new cars in the Indian car market. These upcoming cars from Honda include the all new 2014 Jazz, the Brio MPV a compact SUV and the diesel variant of the City sedan.
Honda is known for the swanky luxury cars that the company makes. The classy and stunning City sedan is almost synonymous with the Honda Brand. Before the advent of the Brio hatchback and the Brio based Amaze compact sedan, the City was the most prominent contender in India from the house of Honda.
The Honda City speaks loud of its high class and comes packed with sophisticated styling and convenience features. As a result, the Honda City has been one of the primary choices of the petrol powered midsized sedan consumers in India.
However, lately the City, which is in its 3rd generation in the Indian car market, has been hit by low sales owing to the market competition and successful diesel models. Honda Cars with its new rejuvenated strength is set to things right when this flagship model is concerned and has thus decided to bring along the new-generation City in India. After the massive success of the Amaze that is the first diesel offering in India from Ho0nda, the company is set to offer both the fuel options of petrol and diesel for most of its upcoming launches.
After many speculations, Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL) have now confirmed that the company will introduce the new-gen City sedan in India along with a diesel variant of the car in 2014. The other most important Honda launch is that of the next gen 2014 Honda Jazz. The Jazz hatchback was discontinued in India owing to low sales, but the all new bigger and better Jazz along with its diesel counterpart is expected to create a wave in the Indian car market.
The Senior VP of marketing and sales at HCIL, Mr. Jnaneswar Sen has confirmed this development as he told the media that the company’s most favored car, City will be launched in its diesel variant in India in 2014. He said that the City diesel will launch in Japan in November this year following which it will hit the Indian market in 2014.
Mr. Sen also added that HCIL is looking forward into re-launching the Civic hybrid in India. However, as the Indian consumers are keen to have a more affordable hybrid car, the Civic hybrid could be brought back only if it gets some support from the Indian government to reduce its cost.
Thus, with the diesel avatars of the City as well as Jazz, Honda is all set to experience some higher peaks of success in India.
