The waiting period of new City is four months

The new City is a top seller for Honda Cars India, the car along with Amaze has enabled the company to yield month after month profits. The 2014 City is the fourth gen model, and has signature attributes attached to it. The specialty lies in advanced design technologies called Exciting H design and Sleek Cross Motion. It is hence an evolution from the past, City is a premium sedan, and the new car has transformed into something new. Customers are hence excited beyond words, evident with the waiting period, which is now four months.

The booking figure has touched 30,959 volumes within few months of 2014, earlier it was Amaze that took the limelight and now it is the new City. On the increased waiting period for new City, a Honda company official said, the waiting period for some variants is four months, and the company has made few adjustments. The adjustment is made to balance the lost effects of current election scenario, because of which Honda had to shut down its Bhiwadi unit in Rajasthan, and this has affected the production outflow of Amaze. Initially Honda expected about 20% of booking volume for its new City, the sale charts reveal a 50% rise. The automatic city built with the advanced (CVT) continuously varying transmission has contributed 30% sales.

The main factory unit of Honda Cars India is Greater Noida, the second established unit is Tapukara Rajsthan, and the first car to come out of this stable is Honda Amaze. The company’s outflow vision from the two units is 2,40,000 pieces in India. Honda has strategized its new products effectively, since April last year, when Amaze was launched the company has been churning month after month profits. Then came the new Honda City beginning of 2014, and a combination of both products has led the company to record great outcomes of 75% growth in 2013 to 2014 fiscal compared to the corresponding year. The company rolled out over 1 lakh models, which is phenomenal taking the constraint car economy into consideration, where other esteemed auto firms are struggling to generate attractive outcomes.

Global Honda has chalked out its future growth vision; by 2017 March the firm aims to sell 12 lakh vehicles in region of Asia Oceania. The company envisages India to be an attractive growth division. The debut diesel engine used is iDTEC 1.5 liter power train that also powers Amaze. The engine yields enormous powers of 200Nm and 100PS, and is attached to six speed gearbox. The car moves with best-in-class mileage of 26kmpl, higher than Amaze diesel which is 25.8kmpl. The petrol car manoeuvres with a robust iVTEC engine that pumps out 119PS, and is mated to five speed CVT gearbox. The mileage yielded by petrol car is also pretty impressive at 18kmpl for automatic and 17.9kmpl for manual model.
