The new version of Honda Civic, the premium sedan has been launched by Honda Car Siel India (HCSI) with some cosmetic changes. Now the newer version is more stylish and enhanced. While Elantra have been re-introduced by Hyundai Motors in India as a posh sedan. Let us go through a small differentiation between these two cars.
Honda Civic has been introduced with two accessories packages namely Inspire and Elegance. The elegance is packed with rear door sunshade, illuminated side step garnish and door visor. On the other hand, Inspire is packed with front under spoiler, trunk spoiler, and rear under spoiler and side under spoiler. In the front, Honda Civic looks aggressive and sporty. It consists of smoky headlamps on its front fascia, the grille is metallic, and the front bumper is aerodynamic and is of the body colour and integrated with turn indicators. Door handle is also body coloured. The rear portion of the car is very attractive as it has Octo-combi tail lights and dual exhaust. This car while travelling in the city traffic looks awesome.
The Hyundai Motor team has concentrated and have worked upon the looks of the fifth generation Elantra. The nose of the car has been narrowed; the front has now got sharp and edgy curves, the headlamps are now stretched out, the grille has been enhanced on which, the logo of the company rests upon. This sedan has got body coloured door handles and OVRMs too. This car have sunroof also.
The font cabin of Honda Civic resembles the cockpit of a plane due to its instrument panel. The panel consists of blue lit digital speedometer, tachometer and fuel economy indicator. The dashboard has audio system and AC placed centrally. It has fabric seats in some variant and leather seats in another one. The interior has colour combination of beige and black. The interiors are hugely illuminated and the seats are too comfortable with generous amount of space inside. The Civic also have mounted cruise controls which lets one to drive at a speed over 40kmph without accelerator being used.
The inside of Elantra now comes with high quality fabric upholstery. The sound system is good with six speakers along with a CD player, satellite radio, i-Pod USB interface with AUX in technology. The more upgraded variants of Elantra has powerful AC system, solar glass, comfortable headrests etc. there are features like keyless entry, touch screen infotainment interface, navigation system etc. The inside of the car has a comfortable seating arrangement.
The new sedan is powered with an engine of 1.8L, i-VTEC, 1799cc, 4 Cylinder, SOHC that churns 132 Ps of max power at 6300 rpm and a maximum torque of 17.5 Kgm at 4300 rpm. Hyundai Elantra comes with 1.8-litre of VTVT petrol engine which produces a maximum power of 146 bhp and also a maximum torque of 181Nm.
Among these two sedans, Honda Civic is more dynamic and stylish than Hyundai Elantra. Civic will be a better choice for sure rather than Elantra.
