Honda Jazz versus Fiat Punto

The Japanese car major Honda Motors has entered into the small hatchback segment after launching its first small car named Jazz. While the Italian car major, Fiat has launched its small car named Punto in the Indian market. Let us compare these two cars.

Honda Jazz is stylish and sporty. It has sharp lines which comes with central bonnet ridge. The premium front chrome grille of this car gives it a look of Honda CV-R. The headlights are coloured as silver and are matt finished, its windscreen is steeply raked and its glass area is shaped ellipsoidal. The door handles are body coloured and the alloy wheels gives the car a classy look. At the rear, the tail lamps are designed as new and the look is further enhanced by the chrome garnishing. An antenna has been placed on the top rear portion of the car.

Fiat Punto comes in stylish and dynamic also fluidic exterior. Its front grille looks aggressive, it is designed like net and is made of chrome. The logo of Fiat rests at its centre. The front has been slung low. Overall body of the car has been provided with a masculine look and compact. The front has clear lens headlamps. The front flaunts an antenna and the door handles and OVRMs are body coloured.

The interior of Honda Jazz is attractive and beige coloured. Its dashboard comes in dual tone and is equipped with advanced instrument panel. The upholstery is also beige coloured. Jazz has a very spacious interior and the headspace allows even a 6ft tall person to accommodate. The instrument cluster in this car is amber coloured and consists of stereoscopic dials with fuel consumption indicator. The rear seats are placed a bit higher than the front seats so that rear passengers get a clear view. The car has full of compartments for storage purpose. It has three spoke steering wheels with audio controls mounted on it. Honda jazz comes with safety features also like dual airbags at the front, ABS, EBD etc.

Punto has in it the essence of Italian design in its interiors. It has dual tone dashboard, leather finished steering wheel with audio controls mounted and gear knob. The driver’s seat is adjustable and the pedals are placed in a comfortable position. Both the front and rear windows have power windows. The other features of this car includes automatic climate control AC, pollen filter, automatic foldable key etc. The car has decent space inside.

This premium hatchback, Honda Jazz, is equipped with 1.2L, 1198cc, four cylinder powerful petrol engine with 5 speed manual gearbox. The engine generates a power of 90Ps @ 6200rpm and a maximum torque of 110nm @ 4800rpm. Fiat Punto is available in 1.2L, 1172cc FIRE petrol engine, it produces a maximum power of 68Ps at the rate of 6000rpm and a maximum torque of 96 Nm at the rate of 2500rpm.

Both Honda Jazz and Fiat Punto are big and spacious hatchbacks. Honda Jazz is much more technologically advanced than the Punto and thus is a clear winner.
